About
You can check out my Blog for regular updates
I'm going to start this way. I'll break this up into categories instead of writing out some long biography, that way you can skip to the parts that interest you.
God
Notice that I put these first three in priority order: God, Family, Ministry. I believe that it has to go like that. I think that this is the priority for any Bible believing Christian. Our personal relationship with Christ must take first priority. We can't gain the whole world, but loose our own soul. After that comes family. Note that family comes before ministry. If I make ministry a priority before family, am I really loving my wife as Christ loved the church? I don't thik so. So, ministry is 3rd. I think that's a great place. It's high priority, not just "another job". This is eternal business. But, hey, I believe that everyone is a minister, I just do it and get paid for it... a full time kinda thing. Some days I think that's pretty cool, some days... not so cool ;)
Family
I've already done the priority speech, so not let me just put some stuff about my family.
- Janet - As of Summer 2010 we will be married 18 years. That's awesome. It just gets better and better. I met Janet at United Faith Assembly of God (now Christlife church) in Charlotte, NC. She sold me some candy... I bought it... here we are. Lots more to this story, but I'm not putting it all down here. You'll have to wait for the movie.
- Abbie - Our oldest. She will be 15 in the fall of 2010. Red hair, beautiful and smart. (Boys, I have a shotgun and I know how to use it.)
- Anna - More red hair. She will be 11 in the fall of 2010. She is a funny, but focused and determined girl. When her mind is made up, move out of the way.
Ministry
Some of the guys in my old street ministry seemed to think that I was born with a Bible in my hand. Not so. In fact, I was not even saved until I was 21. Up until them I was unsaved and I had a successful career in the computer business. I was a consultant doing system analysis, programming and design. I work with companies such as Computer Associates and Coca Cola bottling consolidated in Charlotte. I was invited to United Faith through a divine setup kinda thing (May be I'll write more about this somewere else...) and ended up getting saved. Somewhere along the line I felt the call to ministry. I knew that I could be a minister and still keep a secular job, but I felt that God wanted me full time and focused. So, I pursued education. Whent through all the ministry preparation hoops, and was then hired on at United Faith.
Now that you have that ministry introducton I'll list some of my ministry experiences.
- United Faith AG - Charlotte, NC - Pastor of Discipleship and Evangelism -
- First Assembly of God - Shelby, NC -
- Family Worship Center AG - Waynesburg, KY -
More to come
I'll add some more meat to the above stuff when I'm not so tired. I'm still recovering from surgery, and I'm running out of stam for tonight.
